I was looking for a shaper to make a board for me seeing that I was not happy riding someone else’s design. While looking on the internet I discovered Gene’s website by chance and was very intrigued that I could make my own board with his guidance.

The experience of making my own board to my specifications was one of the greatest times of my life. Gene is a very knowledgeable teacher with the patience of a saint and the ability of Michelangelo, his upbeat personality made every session a great time and I’m honored to call him a good friend. My board came out better than I thought and less than 2 hours after it was completed Gene and I hit the surf and I was blown away how great it rode.

Anyone can make his or her dream board I’m living proof of that, with Gene by your side he will take you step by step and before you know it you will have made a board to your specifications and what type of waves you ride, try getting that from a board made in California. Surfing is the greatest sport ever, what makes it even better is surfing on a board that you made with your own two hands.
